Feng shui bagua area for stability and connection to stillness

The Balanced Home – introducing dynamic balance with the bagua

In feng shui we apply an “energy template” known as a BAGUA to the floorplans of our built spaces. This allows us to see the 3 dimensional flow of energy which connects each area of our lives with a specific part of our homes and workspaces.

By applying intentional feng shui design to our spaces using colour and the five elements we can establish a dynamic balance in the flow of chi/energy to and through our built spaces. This then in turn, supports and enhances the energy in each area of our lives.

Connecting to inner stillness

The area of the bagua associated with stability, inner knowledge and connection to our deepest selves is referred to as  “mountain” earth. This evokes the sense of going deep inside ourselves to connect with our own innate wisdom.

In our modern “busy being busy” lives, when we can feel constantly bombarded with activating energy from phones, Tv’s etc it is even more important to set aside time, and space, for stillness.

Introducing the Earth element in Decor

This part of the bagua is an ideal space to introduce the earth element in the form of material finishes such as stone, marble, terracotta and crystals. Colours which represent the earth element are yellow, ochre, browns and earthy tones. The soft nurturing and receptive nature of the earth element may be represented with soft, yielding, deeply cushioned furnishings, soft throws, rugs and pillows.

Introduce peaceful and calming imagery and ornamentation which reminds you to take time-in here. Ideally this part of the home will have a peaceful and quiet almost meditative energy.
