September – Entering the Metal Phase of the Year – Autumn

The wheel has turned and we seem to have stepped into Autumn just as the schools have reopened and life takes on new routines.
The metal phase of the year.
We have entered the metal phase of the year, the time of release, letting go of what is no longer necessary or useful. As always, we look to Mother Nature for her cues – she is reminding us to empty out what has passed its best and make space for the simplicity of our core values.
The metal phase of the year encourages our energy to move in and down, stripping back and refining.
The emotion associated with metal is grief. At the end of a cycle we must let go of what was, surrendering to both gratitude and loss. Consolidating our energy by setting down the past, allowing a simple spaciousness to emerge.
Letting go
Looking around your space, ask yourself what can I let go off, tidy away, simplify or refine?
As we do this, we remind ourselves that we are making room for the Divine/Source energy to enter, to mentor and inspire us in the quieter months ahead. This is generally the time of year we take up new studies, read more and consolidate our energy.
Focusing inward
In the past year, as many of you know, I have been delving deeply into the study of the emotional and energetic aspects of essential oils. Their connection to our mind/body/spirit and to our vibrational energy. Focusing on how they can be encompassed into our daily lives to support our feng shui journey.
I am really looking forward to sharing this information with you in a practical and insightful three-part workshop which will run on three consecutive Tuesday evenings from 22nd September to 6th October. Integrating Fragrant chi with feng shui to bring balance, uplift our energy, create a sense of rootedness, and awakening clarity and inspiration.
I have chosen a group of 9 essential oils for us which are
-
Gentle and safe for most people
-
Versatile in both physical and energetic applications
-
Readily available and familiar (but still inspiring)
-
Harmoniously blend together, so they can be experienced individually and can be combined and explored creatively in simple blends.
Each week we will take an indepth look at 3 seperate oils. Focusing on their energetic qualities and how they can be incorporated into our daily lives to shift the atmosphere of our homes and bring our own energetic fields into greater balance.

I hope to see you for our September gathering as we refocus our energy inward for the YIN phase of the year.
In the meantime, I recommend we go with the flow of the elements and begin to clear out, cut back and refine our spaces both external and internal. Making space and time for simplicity. Like opening up our lungs (both the Lungs and Large intestine are associated with the Metal phase in TCM) and taking a deep breath, releasing tension and stress, ready for the inhale of fresh new vital chi for the journey inward.
many blessings,
Edel
