February 2025 – Love is in the air

February has arrived and with it Valentines day and the plethora of red hearts and roses it has become synonymous with.

In feng shui we associate the energy of love and relationships harmony with the I ching symbol KUN mother earth. The most Yin energy, this represents gentleness, kindness, patience and softness. The energy of KUN is down to earth, graceful, and capable. This divine feminine energy is present in all creatures and in every human being regardless of our sex or how we identify.

Unconditional love and acceptance

Underneath all of our conscious efforts lies an inner strength, an unconscious power which sustains us, allowing us to bring things to their natural completion with a sense of divine right timing. Mother earth is adaptable, flexible, vulnerable, open and loyal, it is unconditionally accepting. This energy thrives on love and appreciation and invites us to center ourselves, anchoring our energy into the here and now.

2025 in 9 star ki is a 2-earth energy year and invites us to engage with this yin, archetypal feminine energy within ourselves. This year we are invited to greet everyone, ourselves included, with loving kindness. As one half of the YIN YANG symbol for balance, KUN invites us to make a conscious effort to ground our energy and maintain our inner equilibrium consciously every day. To do this we need to disconnect from drama and distractions and get quiet and still, open and receptive and to spend time in silence, preferably out in nature.

Unplug from drama and distractions

Meditation and journaling allow us to unplug from the “noise” and listen inwards. If you keep a daily journal, why not write a note on what you love about your life, your home and your relationships, include a little self love and appreciation here too.

This month and for this year make a conscious effort to balance being out in the world with self-care.  Try to let go of the need to be in control – exercise “allowing”, have a both-and attitude and be open to the fact that two things can be true at the same time.

Brightening up our surroundings: as without so within.

Transition

The earth element is the element of transition between all of the other stages of being/seasons of life. It is made up of the ashes from the fire (of summer growth), contains the compost from the condensing/breaking down of plant matter(metal), moisture from the water element (winter) and the roots of the trees and plants (tree energy associated with spring). As the saying goes Change is the only constant.

We can all agree we are in a time of great transtion globally and personally. We can lean into this by grounding and embodying our personal energy and by collaborating with like minded souls. It is time to develop deeper connections to our brotherhoods, sisterhoods and communities to offer mutual support and kindness as we traverse this time of change.
