The energy of full sun, brightness and illumination

Fire – Li – Brightness & Clarity
On the bagua (feng shui energy template) this energy is often referred to as reputation or fame; it represents clarity, vision and enlightenment.
This is the area of spiritual illumination or illumination from within, and our ability to illuminate or enlighten others.
Being “charged by fire” means manifesting the energy of clarity.
It also has an association with what we are known for, either personally or professionally and how we see ourselves.
On the Bagua Fire is associated with the South and full summer, the most yang energy of all the 9 “houses”.
THE I CHING SYMBOL FOR FIRE – LI
The I Ching symbol for the energy associated with this life area is LI – Brightness, often referred to as “the clinging”. In “The I Ching workbook” Roger Green explains this reference “ as flames cling to their source of fuel and light embraces the surfaces it reveals, so human wisdom attaches to and brightens our lives”.
Remembering to fuel our own fire
Fire needs fuel to keep it going, often we can find our enthusiasm wanes when we have neglected to fuel our own fire with support and sources of inspiration to keep going. One of two things can happen; either the fire, left untended can burn out of control or it can die back and go out entirely.
If we can have patience and remember to support ourselves we can move toward a state of enlightenment brightening all areas of our lives, illuminating the path forward. In order to be sustainable and balanced, the focus here is not necessarily an illumination of “self” but more a source of inspiration and hope and vision for ourselves and those around us.
Inspiring ourselves to shine our light and be all that we can be
Inspirational imagery and ornamentation, unusual and eye-catching colours and design features are useful additions in this part of our living and working spaces to inspire us to rise out of the mundane and ordinary and fuel our fire to live life to our fullest potential.
This is the space which requires us to be brave, opening ourselves up fully like a flower blossoming into its fullest potential. Standing up like the tall poppy and standing out; expressing ourselves truly and fully. This is essential for true connection and our sense of belonging.
“True belonging never asks us to change who we are, true belonging requires us to be who we are” Brené Brown – Braving the wilderness
