Feng shui design diffuser blend for connection and belonging

Aromatherapy diffuser blend to encourage a sense of belonging and rooted growth

Scent is a powerful medium to change the energy in our living and working spaces.

Scent is our first sense to develop. It has the ability to transport us immediately into memory. Scientific research has proven that our sense of smell impacts our limbic system. This in turn sets the tone for our mood. It has a direct mind-body connection.

Pure essential oils can engender a desired atmosphere; be that a peaceful, enlivening or uplifting one.

Diffuser blend to support a deep sense of connection and belonging.

The combined scent of these oils invites us to lean into ancestral support to encourage “rooted growth”.  Encouraging us to let go of that which no longer serves us. In so doing we allow ourselves to be guided forward into the next phase of growth and manifestation in our lives.

  • 5 drops Frankincense
  • 4 drops Cypress
  • 1 drop Vetiver (very thick oil, use very little and blend with the other oils to “loosen”a little, before adding to water for your diffuser)

Frankincense (Boswellia Carterii)

  • Has a deep resinous, balsamic scent which has a subtle citrus note.
  • Its allows us to access our inner reserves of healing. It is grounding and centering for our energy.
  • This oil is distilled from the resin which oozes from the bark of the tree to heal wounds.
  • It is an ideal aid to meditation, contemplation and connection to the divine.
  • It stills our mental chatter and allows us to focus on our connection to our higher self.
  • Its scent encourages us to break free from mundane worries and to rekindle our inner light.
  • The word Frankincense is derived from an old french word Franc meaning free/pure and incensum which means to kindle.
  • It therefore kindles within us a sense of clarity and inner freedom.
  • It supports vibrant health by encouraging us to breathe deeply and restore our inner balance.

Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens)

  • Has a beautiful woody, smoky and resinous aroma.
  • It is both calming and soothing.
  • This essential oil is derived from the fresh twigs and leaves of the tree.
  • Cypress was widely used as an incense in ancient Greece and Egypt and is still used for purification in Tibet.
  • This essential oil is deeply comforting in times of transition.
  • It is said to “hold our hand like a friend” walking us through times of inner and outer change and transformation.
  • Its scent calms the mind, soothes any sense of feeling overwhelmed.
  • It is said to assist us in releasing suppressed emotions, trauma or grief. It is an oil of renewal.

Vetiver (vetiveria zizanoides)

  • Is derived from the deep roots of the grass.
  • Its scent is sweet, warm, resinous and lightly woody and smoky.
  • This oil is deeply rooting and grounding in its energy.
  • It connects us to the earth and gives a deep sense of “place” and belonging.
  • Like the earth herself, its scent is calming, deeply restorative and nurturing.
  • It is described as being like a deep embrace from mother earth.
  • Its scent relaxes an overactive mind, encouraging a deep sense of calm reassurance and self-confidence.
  • It is said to strengthen our connection to both heaven and earth.

  • Add the drops of pure essential oil to your favourite diffuser.
  • Gently diffuse in a cold air diffuser.

NB Scent is deeply personal so it is important to find essential oils that resonate with positive memories for you.

NB Treat essential oils as medicine

  • They are highly concentrated pure extracts from the plant world (it takes a hugh amount of plant material to make just a few drops of essential oil).
  • If at any time you feel any discomfort from diffusing any of these oils, stop at once.
  • It is always a good idea to test if any oil is ok for you: open the cap and hold just the cap at a distance sniffing the air – if you feel any constriction in your breathing, then this oil is not for you.
  • Small animals and young babies and those with compromised immune systems need to be treated with extra care.
  • Diffuse oils at a safe distance in a well ventilated space.
  • Allow for small animals to be able to leave the room if they wish to do so – remember their sense of smell is much more intense than ours so care needs to be taken not to overwhelm their system.
  • Start with a half strength diffuser blend if in doubt and work from there.
  • You will only need 8-10 drops total to fill your space with their beautiful scent.
  • Diffuse for 20 mts at a time.
