All change is cyclical

In feng shui we recognise that everything in the universe, including us is in a continuing cycle of energy. One system of studying cycles of change is 9 star ki which shows us that over a 9 year period, each year being governed by a different essence or element.
In concert with this global energetic shift, we all have our own elemental signature which offers a more detailed insight into our own personal journey through the seasons of our lives.
2025 is a 2 earth energy year, which means that we are all collectively influenced by this energy of mother earth this year. The qualities of 2- earth are kindness, support, nurturing, compassion, connection, community and balance. Sounds very appealing just now!
You can delve a bit deeper into the annual cycles of energy and how these interact with your own personal energetic signature in my annual Being in your element with 9 star ki online course.
Rest and regenerate
Feng shui has its roots in the I Ching, the book of change. In studying the cyclical shifts in energy over the millennia feng shui masters have noted repeating patterns in this changing energy. Their handed down wisdom tells us that this is a year of karmic reckoning when we have to face the consequences of past actions.
I think we can all agree that Mother Earth is calling us to task, in more ways than one. In response to her call, this is a good time to focus on stabilising our energy, stepping back from the frenetic pace of life and the busy being busy nature of social media. This only serves to separate us. Instead, we can time-in to ground and centre our energy and analyse where we are both individually and globally.
Time now to rest and regenerate before taking considered action.
Finding common ground
In this time of great transition it seems fitting to focus our energy on kindness, balance and deepening our connection to our community. Finding “common ground” even with those we find challenging is the only way to create a firm and stable footing from which we can all move forward together.
Gathering with others, sharing our experiences and cheering each other on feels deeply inviting just now. Seeking out our tribe; those people who want to deeply connect and who share our core values and goals for our community and our planet – “friends thou hast and their adoption tried, grapple them unto thy soul with hoops of steel but do not dull thy palm with entertainment of each unhatched, new fledged comrade” – a piece from Hamlet, learned by rote more than 40 years ago, seems deeply resonant for the current climate.
