Samhain Blessings
Samhain
Celebrating Samhain, when our ancestors came together to gather around a ceremonial fire, symbolising the descent into winter and the anticipation of the Winter Solstice and the returning of the light.
There was a tradition of putting out the fires in each home and relighting them all from the embers of this ceremonial fire, taking in the wishes and dreams of their community and holding them in the light for the dark months of winter.
Festival of Remebrance
At this time of year there is a belief that the veil between the worlds is thin and we have the opportunity to communicate with those who have gone before us. We are connected to our lineage and to infinite lives lived through our DNA. We have within us all of the lived experiences of our ancestors.
Remembering this connection and calling on this collective wisdom at this time deepens our sense of rootedness, connection and belonging.
Time for inner journeys
This is a time when we can spend time journeying inwards to the heart of ourselves. Connecting to our soul purpose. Reassessing where we are and what we have achieved thus far and noting any course corrections we feel we may need to take.
We can call on the collective wisdom of our ancestors to support us as we journey into the darkest part of the year.
Letting go of the old and planting seeds for the future.
Mentally and emotionally releasing whatever no longer serves us will make space, “clearing the ground” for planting. In winter we have the opportunity to bless and sow the seeds which will germinate in the darkness, folded deep within mother earth. Through the mystery of transformation, the seeds of our dreams for the future are incubated in our unconscious in the winter months.
Wishing you every blessing at Samhain and always,
In Love and Light,
Edel
