The Spring equinox – a festival of balance

Realigning our energy at the tipping points of the year

Feng shui reminds us that we need to be in a state of dynamic balance, shifting, growing and realigning with the outer and inner changes that happen throughout every season of our lives.

Synchronising our energy with that of Mother Earth; we are in a continual state of “becoming”. As opposed to being in a state of “happy ever after” – Heaven.

Tuning in to the outer world and the cyclical change that happens naturally with the turning of the seasons reminds us to tune in to where we are in terms of our inner balance.

This is the year of the wood snake in feng shui which offers the potential to deepen our knowledge and understanding of the bigger picture of what is going on around us. It is a year which invites us to deepen our connection to mother earth and develop our spiritual and pshycic energy.

The Equinox – a point of balance

The Spring equinox is a point of balance in the Earths journey around the sun. A time when the Sun’s active (yang) energy during the day is equal to the Moons receptive (yin) energy at night.

The Tipping points of the year (equinox and solstice) offer an ideal opportunity to pause and tune in to where we are internally and how we are in the context of what is going on around us.

On an internal level we can tune in to the balance between ouractive/logical  Vs our receptive/intuitive energy.

The Awakening – reconnection

In the I Ching this energy is associated with Chen/Zhen “the awakening” the energy of Spring and the rising sun, new beginnings, motivation and action.

In feng shui we associate this energy with the element Wood/Tree. This has a deep association with family, lineage and our sense of rootedness and belonging. Deep roots, like those of a tree allows us to freely grow and evolve into our fullest expression.

This energy is also associated with our community and connection to our “tribe”. This is a reminder of our human need for connection and belonging. Now is the time to join like-minded groups rather than trying to “go it alone”.

Putting our best foot forward.

At the turning of the seasons it is the perfect time to steady our energy, to come into balance so that we feel ready to head into the active phase of the year.

Earthing/grounding our energy balances our energy, releases positive ions and roots us into the earth – deepening our sense of belonging and connection

Walking on the earth, connects us to the natural bio-rhythms of this place at this time. Rooting us firmly into the present moment. Bringing us into balance, ready to put the “right foot forward” into the active phase of the year.

The Spring equinox is our wake up call to remind us that we have within us all the “spark of life” to manifest new growth for the year ahead.
