Doing no-thing

In our very busy world we can very easily get swept up in the hamster wheel of constantly “doing”  and striving towards goals and achievements. The irony is that it is only when we stop, become present and listen inwards that we can connect to how we are feeling and what we actually need to come into balance.

Doing no-thing can be quite challenging. There is a nervous energy that pervades our need to check our phones and devices for emails, messages, and photos on social media.

Due to an accident at the beginning of July, I have been challenged in the past 6 weeks to just be still. Not being in control and not knowing how long this will last has brought up some very interesting nervous energy.

Worry and anxiety shift us into our fight/flight/freeze adrenalin response sending us on a merry-go-round of getting no-where fast as our primal responses of protection kick into action.

Relax

I was reminded by a health therapist that I need to stop trying to “fix” my injuries. I just have to relax and allow myself to heal. This takes as long as it takes, healing has its own time frame and nothing I can do can speed up this natural process.

Acceptance of what is, relaxing and giving the body and mind the tools it needs to heal is all there is to be done.

As someone who is used to “getting on with it” and doing several things at once, this has been a real challenge. Not having an end date, having patience and surrendering to what is each day, has been the lesson.  There is no “there” to get to, there is only here and now.

Meditation

I have been doing a deep healing meditation with Davidji everyday. This is a process of scanning through the body and noticing how it is feeling. Breathing into it and then witnessing and accepting. Not trying to fix or force, just witness and accept.

This process has taught me a lot. Balance comes not only from doing, but also from simply being.

Being with yourself right where you are, witnessing how you are feeling in body, mind and spirit. Not trying to change anything. Simply witnessing with compassion. Patience is power.

Balance & Heal

I have been diffusing my Balance Blend of essential oils – a blend of pure organic essential oils of Lavender, Orange, Juniperberry, Cypress and Cedarwood.

The intention of this blend is to strike a chord between relaxing the build up of tension when feeling overwhelmed nad releasing the sense of being “stuck in a rut”; while uplifting, encouraging and supporting our energy through change and challenging times.

The combination of these essential oils aims to balance and harmonise the atmosphere. Its uplifting notes are intended to open us up to our own creative healing ability and feel more joyful and “held” in the process.
